HISTORY OF THE HOSPITAL

I Euro Hernia Clinic LTD in Ryczywół, Oborniki county in the region of Poznań, Poland is the first such establishement in Poland and Europe.

The Clinic was officially opened on the 3-rd of September 1999 although the construction- adaptation works started at the end of the year 1991. As in many other places around the world the beginings are not easy!

Since the beginning the Clinic has been progressing very dynamically and the number of operated patients is increasing rapidly as the operative result are superb and the advertising from patient to patients is most convincing.

To date of 31-st of December 2003 there were well over one thousand hernia operations performed and hernias were often very large, monstrous size (see photos).

The operations performed here pertain to external hernias of the abdominal wall, like: inquinals, femorals, umbilicals,epigastric, lineae albae, Spigelian type and many abdominal hernias in the post operative scars often very large and very often multirecurrent.

The bulding of the Clinic is specions of 1584 m2 with 3 levels and a basement under the whole bulding.

There is a potential to allocate up to 50 hospital beds on the two upper floors. Operating block with two operating theaters ( rooms) and all other spaces to provide excellent service. There are other facilities like operating room for smaller procedures ( day surgery), two doctor_s offices, reception and booking, admitting office, with a large waiting room for outpatients. Also on the ground floor there is large dining room for inpatients, TV etc.

The Clinic is located in a beautiful picturesque 3.6 ha park with wallking passes and a pond and all that is giving an inpression of being in resort or country club.
